DEFENDERS IS COMING!!

Misty Knight, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and oh yeah… Iron Fist... Blow me Sigourney Weaver too!!

I'm lying on the ground right now, wondering what manner of thing I must have done to deserve this?! BLEEKERS… Defenders is coming…. And it's going to be glorious…

I'll just leave the trailer here….

'Kill Switch' Trailer

Ah yes it's time for some fresh Sci-fi movie viewing, and this June brings you 'Kill Switch' starring Dan Stevens (Legion), with directorial debut from Tim Smit.
Kill Switch is based on a short film of Smit's called 'What's in the box' which lends some clues  as to what the movie is about, because the trailer isn't giving anything away!

And what is in this box of Sci-fi movie mystery? Well, like I said, the trailer doesn't give much away, but it looks like a cross between, 21 days later, Terminator and Twelve monkeys… if that doesn't sound like a effing brilliant film, then you are dead inside!!

Oh and if you haven't seen 'Legion', what are you doing?!! Go and watch it immediately, it's brilliant!!

Here's the trailer for you lucky people! And the short film, which is not half bad!

`The Underground Railroad' by Colson Whitehead

A science fiction novel based around a steam punk underground railroad! I am sold! And guess what? the author Colson Whitehead  is up for the much coveted Arthur C Clarke award (ACC) this year! Awesome!

Well he may not be news to you, having already won the Pulitzer prize this year for the same novel, 'The Underground Railroad' but I am still pleased to see him nominated in a genre that seems at times to do  its best to exclude POC.

This year's ACC Award looks to be the most diverse to date, with an impressive number of ladies as well. The shortlist includes t
ransgender Korean-American writer Yoon Ha Lee for their debut 'Ninefox Gambit',  and Israeli-born Lavie Tidhar for 'Central Station'. Rounding off with Becky Chambers with 'A Closed and Common Orbit' the sequel to her much praised 'The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet' and Emma Newman with 'After Atlas' and Tricia Sullivan with 'Occupy me'  - Ah... so many books, so little time...

'The Dark Tower' Trailer

Now I don’t know much about Steven King, except the nightmare made real that is Pennywise, in the pant wetingly terrifying 'IT '  (I'm still not over it and I'm not ashamed to say so!) and the psychological mindeff that is 'The Shining' (I didn’t sleep for weeks), and well, that was enough for me, with my insides the colour of big birds armpits!

But what's this I see? Lo and behold along comes 'The Dark Tower', featuring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Hmm are they trying to make me lose my job!?! I can't keep up with all these great shows to watch! Thank God Legion has paused for the second season!
From the trailer (I haven’t read the book) It looks like the usual bad guy trying to destroy the world, for lord knows what reason? and the reluctant hero who has to stop him accompanied by the brave little kid who knows the truth, and it'd probably be just that if it wasn’t for the fact that Idris Elba's in it and that makes things a lot more interesting!
