Secret Cinema - Star Wars 4 June - 27 Sept

Secret Cinema's not so secret screening of Star Wars 'The Empire Strikes Back' takes place this Summer from 4th June until 27th September. Get dressed up and immerse yourself in Secret Cinema's epic staging of this classic Sci-fi movie, it's seriously so much fun, I highy recommend it.

One Nation Under a Groove - SouthBank Centre 6 June - 31 Aug

'One Nation Under a Groove' is part of the 'Summer Festival of Love' at the  SouthBank Centre -  "An exhibition exploring love, friendship and closeness within musical subcultures. Music is a common thread that brings people together all around the world, often acting as the trigger in creating new tribes, subcultures, fashions and social movements." - taken from the website

Brixton Splash - 2 Aug

Get your party frocks on and head down to Brixton for fun, food and free music!!! hopefully the weather is good so there'll be plenty of dancing. The Brixton Splash harks back to the nostalgia days of the Notting Hill Carnival, where the atmosphere was more relaxed and less controlled, if you haven't ever been you won't be disappointed.

Africa Fashion Week - London - 7/8 Aug

Get your fashion fix, but with some African flavour! Europe's number one event for African inspired fashion is in London for two days showcasing over 300 designers and hosting events and retailers that will be open to the public.

African Cartoons Family Day - 16 Aug

Hosted by Black History Walks and back by popular demand, bring the family and enjoy Michel Ocelot’s beautiful 'Kirikou and the Sorceress', and 'Kirikou and the Men and Women'. Inspired by African fairytales, these two animations will be shown as a double bill at the Phoenix Cinema in Finchley.

Hackney Record Fair - 16 Aug

I can already smell the vinyl and feel my bank balance getting lighter!! August 16th sees the Hackney Record fair bring its fare to Dalston. I strongly recommend all vinyl heads take a peek!

Keash Braids Pop Up - ENDS 30 Aug

Fancy a funky protective style for the weekend? Then get yourself down to Keash Braids who have been commissioned by Urban outfitters to host a braiding salon in their Oxford Street store. Don't worry if you can't make it, Keash Braids have their own website where you can finds out where they'll be and get yourself an appointment.
